Evolving from our quality management practices, DataShield Protect is specifically developed to help you get the most out of their investments in Web and Email Security Gateways, DLP, SIEM, and Endpoint – Mobile Security solutions. The systematic approach that we have developed and implemented with DataShield Protect is focused on solving your unique problems as the diagram below illustrates:
Problem - Our field engineering teams have been asked by multiple organizations to come into an environment to ‘fix up’ a solution by reviewing and categorizing unmanaged incident data, tuning outdated policies, upgrading the solution to the latest version, and properly configuring existing systems. However, without proper upkeep on the backend, this turns into a wasted investment and provides inaccurate security metrics.
Cause – We find that this problem results from issues such as staff reductions, inadequate resources to manage the systems, the wrong type of resources being tasked to manage the solution, or projects that were never properly scoped on the front end. These setbacks leave systems greatly underutilized, and in some cases, ultimately abandoned by management.

This approach provides you with a proven methodology for optimizing the management of any DLP application by developing a precise scope of the program objectives, constant system health checks, and advanced policy design and detection methods, combined with daily incident triage, event management, and comprehensive reporting. The DataShield Protected Difference – Our People and Process:
Our stated goal with DataShield Protected is not to be the biggest, but the absolute best. As a result, we have created a unique staffing structure in the DataShield Protect SOC that maps to our Quality Management System methodology. Each DataShield Protect customer is assigned to a “pod”; a group of three Data Protection Analysts (DPAs) who are responsible for the following:
Application and Infrastructure - Ensures the technical optimization and health of all system components including integrated touch points.
Incident Triage and Event Management – Reviews all incidents and events daily, manages workflow and is the primary interface with the customer.
Reporting and Analytics – Assesses system and incident / event data, translating this information into reports and analytics.

Each DataShield Protect DPA is cross-trained on the Quality Management System, allowing a complete understanding of the objectives and goals of each customer program scope. DataShield Protect pods typically support between three and five customer accounts. DataShield typically does not have pods dedicated solely to one account except in the largest environments, and in other cases we have customized pods consisting of one dedicated Application DPA, two Incident and Triage DPAs, and one Reporting and Analytics DPA.
